Conventional adipate polyols are often used in PU adhesives and coatings but their poor hydrolytic stability limits their use in durable application windows.
Croda Coatings & Polymers introduces "Priplast 1901", a liquid and easy to use bio-based polyester polyol with improved hydrolytic stability.

Designed for wood or lamination applications

The product is designed for wood or lamination applications where its high elongation to release stress is of value. Its flexible nature improves the adhesive properties to wood, steel and high polarity plastics and can be used in dissimilar substrate applications. Additionally when used in coatings applications the polyol offers good chemical resistance and gives PUDs a soft feel. Test data comparing elongation, hydrolytic stability and moisture protection of the poylol with conventional PTMEG and liquid adipates are available.
