Wetting agents simplify waterbased formulations

Tuesday, 6 November 2012

New range combines good substrate wetting, improved solids wetting and reduced foaming with a good environmental profile.

A new range of multifunctional wetting agents for waterbased formulations helps the formulator to reduce the number of additives traditionally required in aqueous formulations. Croda Coatings & Polymers’ "Multiwet” range combines performance benefits such as good substrate wetting, improved solids wetting and reduced foaming with a good environmental profile. An additional advantage of formulating with the new wetting agents is that no silicones or fluorosurfactants are needed in the formulation which avoids possible issues with recoatability and reduces costs. Recent data confirms that the wetting performance of the new additives equals or even outperforms silicones or fluorosurfactants.
