A novel degassing agent has been developed by Deurex AG. An innovative process allows the company to coat its round micronized wax particles with certain micronized materials and even nanoparticles such as silver. The product "MAB 7055" extends the product portfolio by a benzoin coated amide wax. The wax additive was developed as a degassing agent for powder coatings. Currently benzoin is used in powder coatings as standard additive for degassing. Amide waxes are used to support this process. Additionally they work as processing aid. The novel developed degassing agent combines the benefits of benzoin and amide waxes. During the production process the round micronized amide waxes are coated with the micronized benzoin. This procedure leads to a ten times larger surface of benzoin. Thus, an optimal degassing with a significant smaller proportion of benzoin is realised.
