Additive improves performance of UV-coated wood products

Wednesday, 16 May 2012

Liquid surface modifier shows good matting and tactile properties without increasing formula viscosity.

The Lubrizol Corporation has introduced "Carbocure 7000” to the wood coatings market, which is part of a new generation of liquid surface modifiers developed specifically to improve the performance and aesthetics of UV-coated wood products. The additive displays good matting and tactile properties without increasing formula viscosity or affecting clarity, making it a suitable and versatile choice for high-end furnishings and other demanding flat-surface coating applications. According to the manufacturer, the product creates a smooth, uniform matte appearance with a soft touch and low haze.
