On May 27 and 28 the international workshop Modular Technology (MOFA) will be held in Aschaffenburg and Klingenberg am Main, Germany. The theme of this year's event is: "Paint and Pigment Paste Production 2.0: More efficient, less expensive, more versatile.

Please find all details here:

Theory and philosophy of modular paint and pigment production

On the first day of the event six technical presentations held by MOFA-network partners (Hemmelrath Technolgoy, Alberdingk Boley, Kronos International, Alpha Clacit Füllstoffe, Byk and Ystral ) provide insights in new raw material concepts, cost-effectiveness of MOFA, as well as the philosophy of modular production. The CEOs of all network partners will explain in a "Meet and Greet" why they have come together to form this network and how the coatings and adhesive industry benefits from it.

Another highlight of the first day is the panel discussion. Dr. Sonja Schulte, Editor-in Chief, Science and Technology of European Coatings JOURNAL discusses challenges and opportunities with current users of MOFA technology. Discussion partners are : Alexander Böhler, Schulz Farben und Lackfabrik, Dr. Markus Boos, Remmers, Dr. Hans -Henning Stender, Siegwerk, Dr. Markus Hemmelrath , Hemmelrath Lackfabrik and Ralf Hohmann , Hemmelrath Technologies.

MOFA in action

The second day of the event will be held in Klingenberg am Main, Germany at the production site of Hemmelrath Lackfabrik. Workshop attendees will experience a practical demonstration of the MOFA, the mini - MOFA and the micro-MOFA. Special highlight: The new micro- MOFA-300 is presented to the public for the first time.

During the so-called "Practical Forum” experts answer questions on the topics "MOFA for beginners", "Powdermediate, Aquamediates and Co "and "Modular raw material concept – scooping out new innovation potential .

Exclusive Lunch Talk "Paint – a lifestyle product” by Anna von Mangoldt

Four years ago Anna von Mangoldt launched her very first paint collection under her own name and a colourful logo. Back then, in 2010, she was acting out of a passion for paint and stylish decor but had little idea that her 156 colour strong collection of a very matt paint was about to coincide with a small revolution in interior design: painting walls and furniture is no longer a question of white or beige in Germany, it’s a question of lifestyle. Anna von Mangoldt knows how to convince others that colour is not just a necessity but a possiblity to make your home truly your own. This is how colours such as ‚Scampolo’ or ‚Anna’s Blue’ became bestsellers. Based on her experience she will talk about how paint can become a lifestyle product and how she positiones herself on the German market.
