Once again, the European Coatings CONGRESS 2013 will present the latest results and industrial developments, covering the full range of processes and raw materials for the formulation of coatings, inks, adhesives, sealants and construction chemicals. Prior to the Congress, eleven pre-congress tutorials will take place on the afternoon of Sunday, 17 March.

The tutorial "Basics on marine coatings, chaired by Dr Eric Risberg, Jotun, will provide the detailed scientific background of antifouling coatings and how these are formulated. As a refresh it will also involve the scientific approach to achieve a basic know-how of the fouling mechanism and how to avoid it. The tutorial will outline the history of antifouling coatings, while the main focus will be on binder technologies, paint formulation work and test methodology. Challenges related to antifouling coatings and their application will also be discussed.

Attendees of both pre-congress tutorials and the congress itself are invited to a welcome dinner in the Restaurant "Bratwurst Röslein” on Sunday, 17 March, in the historic center of Nuremberg. Starting at 19.00 h, they can finish the day and prepare for the congress on 18 and 19 March in a relaxing atmosphere.
