Sherwin-Williams in Germany announce "Firetex FX1002/2002” cellulosic intumescent coatings now carry CE marking number 1121-CPD-GA5005. Tested and approved to EN13381-8, the one-product solutions are designed to provide passive fire protection across all time periods, up to 120 minutes, whilst maintaining aesthetic appeal.

Simplified specification process

"Our one-product fire protection coatings have many benefits to the construction industry. Specifying either FX1002 (onsite) or FX2002 (in shop) for a project simplifies the specification process, streamlines purchasing, improves the application process, and mitigates application errors. In combination, these positive attributes can lead to significant project cost savings,” explains Anthony Ward, sales manager for Europe.

Efficient over coating times

FX1002 and FX2002 are low-VOC solventbased technologies that provide efficient over coating times. Depending on the temperature, humidity and air circulation, two application steps, up to 1400 micron DFT each, can be achieved in just one day. This reduces time, application steps and process costs that can normally be associated with higher fire resistance classes.
