Part of the family of electrical insulation products, the varnish is targeted for use in special applications for large hydro and turbo generators where no formaldehyde degassing is desired.

Reducing shutdown periods

The new product is designed to aid the maintenance process of large generators. Formaldehyde degassing in enclosed generators makes it necessary to perform time-consuming air-flushing processes. And protection systems are required before entering the generator areas for maintenance inspections. Because the varnish is non-acidic and formaldehyde-free, it helps to reduce the shutdown periods during maintenance inspections, helping to increase the efficiency of energy generation. Its water-based formulation is REACH compliant. The product has been designed to meet most of the key environmental, health and safety requirements in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia-Pacific and the Americas. It is manufactured in Austria and will be commercially available globally from December 2014.
