Approaches against plastic waste

In contrast to materials such as glass, ceramics and wood, plastics don’t have a good reputation among consumers nowadays. More and more appeals to avoid plastics are initiated on consumer websites, by environmental organisations, in supermarkets and department stores (by way of example, plastic bags are often only available for a small fee). They all agree: plastic waste is climate-damaging and must be reduced.

Are newspapers dying? And what does it mean for printing inks?

I like newspapers. Printed ones. I like touching the paper, turning real pages, cutting out articles, reading the paper at the breakfast table, on the train, or at the beach. I have always had a printed newspaper, and I hope it will be available for a long time to come.

UV curing without photoinitiators

I would like to draw your attention to a new technology I find very interesting. It concerns UV curing without photoinitiators and has recently won a regional innovation award in Germany.

New packaging solutions

Sustainability and functionality were the dominating topics at this year’s European Coatings Show and Congress. They also apply to the packaging coating segment, with an additional emphasis on product/food safety.
