Water-borne coatings in the focus of the October issue

Thursday, 15 October 2020

Switching over to water-based formulations has proved to be no easy task and has now been preoccupying us for decades. Water-borne coatings are also in the focus of the October issue.

Water-borne coatings in the focus of the October issue

Water-borne anticorrosive coatings still represent a niche in the market for corrosion protection coatings but they are growing steadily. You can read about this development in our market report starting on page 16. In other application areas, water-borne coatings are mostly established, and the so-called performance gap is more or less closed. In their article Jan Pilger and Thomas Bernhofer of Synthomer present a new binder for water-borne wall paints that combines high performance with cost optimisation.

The authors of this article will provide more details on the novel binder and are open for questions during our monthly webcast European Coatings live on 27 October at 15:00 CET. Registration is free of charge.

The Covid-19 pandemic still has the world under control. In our special market report in this double issue, George Pilcher and David A. Cocuzzi of The Chem Quest Group examine the impact of the virus on the global coatings market.

Of course, ECJ is also available as an E-Journal, which can also be accessed in our data bank European Coatings 360°.
