Krahn Chemie takes over business of Lapis Minerals & Chemicals

Wednesday, 2 March 2016

With retroactive effect from 1 January 2016, Krahn Chemie GmbH has acquired the distribution activities of the Dutch company Lapis Minerals & Chemicals BV as part of an asset deal.

The focus of the Lapis business is in the distribution of construction chemicals in the Benelux countries.

Strengthening the core segments in Europe

The acquisition is thus in line with the Krahn Chemie strategy to further strengthen its core segments in Europe. Also to be viewed in this context is the recruitment of the former Lapis manager Ferry Jacobs, who not only assured the smooth transfer of the acquired businesses but who, as Technical Director Construction Chemicals for Krahn Chemie, also wants to expand this sector throughout Europe.

Expansion of construction chemicals activities

"The Lapis distribution business allows a significant strengthening of our business in the Benelux countries and simultaneously a targeted expansion of our construction chemicals activities. We are very pleased about the acquisition, which ideally complements the Group's portfolio, and are certain that we have found in Ferry Jacobs an expert who will be able to further advance our activities in Europe", comments Dr. Rolf Kuropka, Managing Director of Krahn Chemie GmbH.
