Hempel A/S invests DKK 1 billion

Thursday, 20 November 2008

Hempel is increasing its share in Hempel-Hai Hong from 36% to 100%. This will give the Danish paint and coatings manufacturer full control of its activities in China.

Hempel A/S reached an agreement to acquire Hempel-Hai Hong in China, with completion expected to take place on 5 January 2009. This latest acquisition means that Hempel A/S will have invested nearly DKK one billion (DKK 1 = EUR 0.13) in 2008, in line with its strategy for global growth. Increasing its share in Hempel-Hai Hong from 36% to 100% will give Hempel A/S full control of its activities in China. Hempel-Hai Hong has a strong brand identity and is already responsible for 25% of Hempel A/S’s global turnover, making it one of the leading companies in the Hempel Group.
