Coatings binders: Reverdia adds licensing to building block portfolio

Thursday, 2 October 2014

In addition to its production capacity of about 10,000 tonnes/year out of the Cassano, Italy plant, Reverdia announced that it is now licensing "Biosuccinium”.

This is an advantage for companies who want to integrate bio-succinic acid production into their business offering, enabling competitive bio-based materials.

On making the announcement, Marcel Lubben, President of Reverdia said, "By licensing the technology as well as selling product direct, we are ensuring that more customers can benefit from Reverdia’s experience in technology and application development. The licensing offering is essential to unlock the biobased market and is the next logical step in our evolution.”
"Biosuccinium” is a building block for the production of polymers and chemicals, including bioplastic polybutylene succinate (PBS), resins for paints and coatings, phthalate-free plasticizers and polyester polyols for polyurethanes.
