BASF expands its research centre in Shanghai

Monday, 11 August 2014

The construction of the second phase of BASF’s innovation campus begins in Shanghai.

The second phase of BASF’s innovation campus in Shanghai has begun. The project, which costs EUR 90 Mio, is set to be completed at the end of 2015. The campus, which has started operation 18 months ago, is one of the chemical concern’s largest research centres outside Germany. The company hopes that the project will globalise their research and strengthen their position not only in China but on the Asian market as a whole. The chemical concern already runs plants in Japan, Singapur and Korea and understands its innovation campus in Shanghai as an important link to the research communities in Asia and the Pacific region.
