Pigments: Hemmelrath Technologies and BASF cooperate

Tuesday, 23 September 2014

Hemmelrath Technologies (HTC) and BASF Pigments Business have started a cooperation for the development of future-oriented Pigment Technology Concepts.

The main focus of the cooperation lies in combining Modular Paint Factory (MoFa)-Technology, which in the interim is now known in the market place, with new pigment technologies such as "Xfast-Pigment Preparations”.

After successful feasibility studies, both partners are convinced that new standards will be set in the market place for quality, cost optimisation and productivity. Some aspects of this modular technology concept are the reduction of process times by more than 75% and the direct dispersion of colour shades as powder mixtures in liquid systems, without the use of pearl mills.
