Temporary leave of absence for AkzoNobel's CEO Ton Büchner

Tuesday, 18 September 2012

AkzoNobel's Supervisory Board has announced that Chief Executive Officer Ton Büchner is taking a leave of absence for several weeks as a result of temporary fatigue. This decision was based on medical advice following Ton Büchner being diagnosed with temporary fatigue. It is expected that the CEO’s recovery will enable him to return to work until mid-October 2012.

Until then, the Supervisory Board has asked Chief Financial Officer, Keith Nichols, to coordinate and be first point of contact on the Executive Committee. Antony Burgmans, member of the Supervisory Board, would be on hand to offer advice and support to Keith and the Executive Committee.

AkzoNobel plans to publish its Q3 results on 18 October, while the investor meeting which is planned for 22 October would be postponed until further notice.
