Duraziv, a Romanian manufacturer of building materials owned by local entrepreneur Daniel Guzu, has set up a new production line for decorative paints and coatings with a production capacity of 50,000 tons per year in Popesti Leordeni.

Total investment in the production of paints and coatings is approximately EUR 2 million. For this year, the company estimates that paints will provide up to 20 % of total company sales. In 2011, paints had a share of over 10 % in the business. The company estimates 2012 will bring sales of EUR 3.5 million from paints and plasters, up 75 % over the previous year.

In 2011, Duraziv paint sales exceeded EUR 2 million. The company's paint division was launched in the second half of 2010 and it owns three factories in Romania, one for dry mortar, another for paint and other waterbased coatings, and the third produces metal profiles, all located near Bucharest, in Popesti Leordeni.
