Tuesday, 19 February 2013

Jordan Coatings, a manufacturer of coatings for the woodworking trade, now has its headquarters in Detmold. The site in Wurzburg shall be retained permanently as a site in Southern Germany. Operating business in marketing and sales will be integrated into the organizational structure of the Group effective 1 April 2013. By taking this step, the Group is rounding off its sales activities in the furniture coatings sector.

The major portion of production and development will initially remain at JP Coatings GmbH in order to warrant smooth transition of business. Job order production and product development will take place at JP Coatings GmbH in the next two years within the scope of close cooperation between JP Coatings GmbH and Plantag Coatings GmbH.

Hanno Baumann, Managing Director of Plantag Coatings GmbH: "Purchase of the Jordan brand name constitutes a strategically significant step following a successful phase of international growth and global structuring of Plantag subsidiary companies. The Plantag Group is turning again more strongly toward the German market within the scope of this acquisition. By purchasing the Jordan brand name, we are rounding off our sales activities, which have thus far concentrated on supplying the furniture industry, with future, additional servicing of the woodworking trade market.”
