The Central European paint market was estimated at approximately 1,346,550 tonnes in 2011 and is expected to grow to 1,531,900 tonnes by 2016. Growth is forecast to vary across the region, with the markets of Poland, Slovakia and several Balkan markets expected to exhibit higher growth rates. Average growth in paint demand across the whole region is expected at about 2.6 % p.a., according to IRL's recent study on the region.

Central and Eastern Europe are often looked at together, however they show different characteristics. Two recent analyses of the market research firm focus separately on the Central and the Eastern part of this comprehensive market place. The reports explore the multiple opportunities that are expected to be seen in these regions along the value chain. In the current April issue of European Coatings JOURNAL, you will find an exclusive excerpt explaining trends within the countries of Central Europe.
