Tuesday, 9 September 2014

By adding a new facility for marine and protective coatings in Nashik, Hempel wants to expand its footprint in India.

Hempel has opened a new site located in Nashik in Western India. With a production volume of approximately 10 million litres per year, the new plant will manufacture paint for the marine and protective coating segments, serving customers in India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the Maldives and Nepal. The coatings manufacturer already runs another factory in India which opened in 2011 and wants to further strengthen its presence in the region. The company has invested  EUR 3 million in the new plant which will be updated with further investments in the next years. Two other factories are scheduled to open in 2014 and 2015.
