Hempel acquires Blome International

Monday, 16 July 2012

Hempel aims to quadruple the protective coatings business.

Danish-based Hempel has acquired U.S.-based protective linings and coatings manufacturer Blome International, through its US-based affiliate, Hempel (USA), Inc. The deal is in line with the coatings manufacturer's plan to significantly grow its protective coatings business in the U.S. The Danish company aims to quadruple the protective coatings business.

The Protective segment in the U.S. represents a significant part of the coatings market and is expected to continue growing; therefore, the acquisition is an important part of Hempel USA’s strategy.
