It was business as usual at the Middle East Coatings (MEC) Show 2011 from 1-3 March 2011 in Cairo, Egypt with industry personnel from the paint and coatings industry braving political turbulence to attend, with better than expected results.1292 trade attendees visited that event. 36 countries were represented ranging from local players in Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Syria and Kuwait to more distant visitors from China, Korea, Thailand and Malaysia. The organiser of the event was pleased to have gone ahead with the show, despite the political unrest in the region. "Considering the conditions we were operating in, business was still done and people are optimistic about the future," explains Jeff Montgomery, group sales manager, Quartz Business Media, organiser of the show on behalf of dmg world media. The next show will be in Dubai International Convention & Exhibition Centre, UAE, 12-14 March 2012. For more info contact Jeff Montgomery: jeffmontgomery@quartzltd.co.uk
