Pigment pastes with a "green polyol"

Friday, 12 December 2008

A solvent- and VOC-free branched polyether/polyester produced from renewable raw materials is used in a new colour series comprising organic and inorganic pigments.

Specialty chemical manufacturer Cognis is offering a solvent- and VOC-free branched polyether/polyester produced from renewable raw materials. "Sovermol 815" is markedly hydrophobic and features a balanced viscosity profile, high resistance to acids and alkaline solutions, and good UV stability and pigment wetting. Arichemie uses this product in its new colour series "Vocaplast-P". The basic range comprises organic and inorganic pigments which when mixed cover a large proportion of the RAL colours as well as specific colour shades. Arichemie can produce finished blends in the factory or supply monopigmented pastes. Added in amounts of 3 to 6%, "Vocaplast-P" has no adverse effects on mechanical properties.
