The final version of new French VOC regulation has been officially published on 25 March 2011. This is about a mandatory labeling of all construction products and some more products installed indoors with their emission classes, based on emission testing and to be followed from 1 January 2012. This regulation foresees that any covered product placed on the market has to be labeled with emission classes based on their emissions after 28 days, tested with ISO 16000 and calculated for European reference room. Products that are in French market before that date need to be labeled from 1 September 2013 on. The limit values for the emission classes are A+, A, B or C. The new regulation includes a mandatory labeling of construction products installed indoors, floor and wall coverings, paints and lacquers with their emission classes based on emission testing.
