Water-Based Artist\'s Paint Formulation

We are interested in paint formulations to make artists' water-based paints. We want to make these paints based on the pigments we process and distribute from natural mineral and earth sources. Such as lazurite, malachite, hematite, glauconite, ochre, etc. This poses various challenges, because the particle size of these pigments are much larger (20-50 microns) and the particle shapes are not homogenous (crystalline, flake, etc.) compared to synthetic mineral and organic pigments use din modern paint formulations.

We are specifically interested in water-based paint fomulations based on 1) a PVA emulsion that imitates conventional gum Arabic watercolor paint in handling and 2) an oil-in-water emulsion that imitates egg yolk tempera in handling properties. We plan on making small batches of paint (about 20 liters) using a conventional stirrer mixer and three roll mill.

Can anyone help with formulations and process?
