You can use DAA (Diaketone Alcool).

Do you want to have thinner composition for paints for ABS?
You can make it with alcohol solvent and not much acetate and aromatic solvents ( eg. xylene 50, IPA 30, butyl acetate 20 etc. ), but you can available cleaning thinner ( only IPA ) for ABS surface.

Use a mixture of:
Ethylacetate 20%, Acetone 30%, i-Propanol 30%, Heptane 20%.Avoid aromatic solvents. DAA you can add as slow solvent.

The modern technology use water-based coatings for most of plastic substrates, such as ABS. Think GREEN this is not just an option it is serious.

And green technolgy for all plastic substrates are waterbased products. However the adhesion is not always good enough. Waterbased products are working now for bonding, coating, painting after a treatment with special machine like tacktreat as 3000 replace primers and solvents. www.tackservice@aol.com you find more details. Even now epdm and silicon can be treated.

On water as green. We stop polluting our air by using W/B paints, but we start polluting our waters. Anybody knows how W/B based users dispose waste? Solvent-based waste goes landfill, W/B based waste goes landfill AND water. And of course W/B paints are laden with water-loving surfactants.
