Functional coatings

| 14. Nov 2018 |

Properly pimped up

Anybody who is anybody in the paint industry plays around with functionalities like painters play around with colour cards. Join in! This seminar will show you that modern paint systems have a complicated structure, but are by no means hard to develop. There used to be a television advert where one man out-trumps a rival in a game of one-upmanship by playing three cards "My House - My Car - My Yacht". Why not boast instead about your paints being "Anti-Microbial - Anti-icing - Anti-fouling - Anti-graffiti - Self-healing". This seminar will teach you the chemical and physical principles underlying these effects. And you will learn what you need to consider when formulating such systems. You will also be able to sit back and relax, because the seminar includes an overview of current development trends in new functionalities.

Your key-learnings:

  • What is the role of nanotechnology?
  • Which coating systems are suitable?
  • How do I get an anti-ice effect?
  • Which functional coatings are already marketable?
  • How does self-healing work?
  • What is a sharkskin paint?
  • How do I specifically control functions?
  • Can a paint have more than one function?
