Bio-based raw materials

| 13. Nov 2018 |

All good things come from nature

The cashew is a tough nut to crack. But it is just one example of how, apart from palm oil and corn, many plants are being developed as coatings and adhesives raw materials. Certainly, not all raw materials can be replaced by bio-based materials at this moment in time. But this seminar will identify those that can, and to what extent. How did we stumble across these plants in the first place? How are raw materials produced and, what is more: does bio-based mean environmentally friendly?

Your key-learnings:

  • Which plants have been used so far in the production of bio-based raw materials?
  • How are bio-based raw materials produced?
  • Which raw materials are easily replaced by bio-based raw materials and which are not?
  • Are there any specific features to observe when using bio-based raw materials?

Your lecturer: Tobias Robert, Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research (WKI) | Germany
Date: 13 November 2018
Venue: Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Seminar fee: €930 (Dutch VAT has to be added, current rate 21%)
