Practical pigment technology

20 October 2020

So beautiful and colourful

The world of pigments is not only colourful, it is also very diverse and complex. The selection ranges from organic to inorganic pigments, from surface-modified and effect pigments to the classic white pigment titanium dioxide. Regardless of whether you work in research and development, colouristic or another division, a sound basic understanding of this important raw material class is an invaluable advantage in the coatings industry. This seminar provides exactly this basis, explains what pigments are made of and how they are obtained and produced. You will receive valuable tips on which pigments you should use for which colours and what a modification of the pigment surface can achieve.

Your key-learnings

  • Components of pigments and how they are produced
  • Which pigments can or should be used for the realization of colour shades?
  • What effect does the modification of the pigment surface have on its behaviour and the properties in the respective paint application?
  • Detailed information about inorganic, organic and functional pigments
  • Stability of pigments and testing methods
  • Nano pigments, regulations and chemical safety
