Contents in a nutshell
The WebSeminar "Coatings - Raw materials & formulation" seeks to present the fundamentals of binder chemistry and comprehensive coatings raw materials knowledge through six self-contained modules. The seminar also addresses current changes in environmental legislation.
Learn all about:
- The binder as the basis of the coating system: Typical binder and coating reactions
- The applications properties of the various types of binder
- The raw materials contained in a coating and the roles they perform
- How to best formulate the different types of coatings - from wet paints to powder paints through to UV-curable paints
- How to avoid or rectify coatings defects
- The scope of REACH and the VOC guideline and their consequences
Procedure
Each module is self-contained and presented by experts in their fields. Depending on the topic, each module consists of two to four 90-minute sessions. These sessions each comprise a 60-minute lecture followed by 30 minutes of live discussion. Participants' microphones are switched off during the lecture and then switched on for the following discussion. They thus have an exclusive opportunity then to obtain answers to formulation questions directly from the experts.
Textbook included
Each participant will receive a complimentary copy of "European Coatings Handbook" by Brock/Groteklaes/Mischke.

This web seminar is aimed especially at coatings and chemical technicians, applications technologists, engineers and chemists from the coatings and allied industries.
