How to participate?
System requirements for European Coatings WebEvents
What are the minimal requirements for Microsoft Windows?
For fully interactive meetings on Windows:
- 56kbps Internet connection speed or better
- JavaScript and Cookies enabled
- ActiveX (if you use the MS Internet Explorer) or Java Runtime Environment
(if you use Mozilla-Firefox) have to be enabled resp. installed
- Headset connected to your computer
Please note: USB- or Bluetooth-headsets are not supported by the system.
In case of using Apple Macintosh, please contact us in advance: , Tel. +49 511 9910-275.
How can I test my PC to make sure it is set up properly to participate at a WebEvent?
- Go to https://coatings.webex.com, and select the Training Center tab.
- Select "Set Up" on the left hand side of the screen and the select Training manager. Your system will be checked for the "WebEx" client or software, a "plug-in" software that enables the features of WebEx. Click the link asking you to Verify Rich Media Player. If an animated image appears your system is set up.
- If this is your first time, follow the instructions to download the software and click the "set up" button.
- You may see a statement appear "Preparing Training Manager" with a time/progress bar, which will indicate time left to complete the setup. You may also receive a question asking if you want to "Set up the WebEx client" - say "yes" to that.
- When successful, you will receive a message "OK" and you are ready to join the WebEvent at the scheduled time.
Company firewalls and proxy servers can sometimes prevent you from accessing a meeting. If you have difficulties, send an e-mail to sven.taenzer@coatings.de or call Vincentz Network at +49 511 9910-275.
How does a WebEvent work?
- Presentations, documents and/or applications are shared from a host and presenter to an audience, via a common web site https://coatings.webex.com .
- Audio is transferred real time from a host and/or presenter to an audience via internet telephone (VoIP). A headset connected to your computer is essential for this.
- Before the WebEvent, a registration confirmation, with instructions, will be sent to all attendees who have registered. This confirmation will provide instructions, any passwords, and complete instructions for logging into the WebEvent and accessing the audio.
