2010: the challenges ahead for the coatings industry

The European paint and coatings manufacturers are looking back on a hard year. Apart from some exceptions, where companies could still maintain or even increase their turnover in spite of the crisis, the common perception is, that after a difficult year 2009 there might be even more challenges to be overcome in 2010. Morten Fon, President and CEO of Jotun A/S, says: "As a total we believe that 2010 will be a difficult year in some areas, but it will also give opportunities for growth in other areas." Uroš Slavinec, President of Helios Management Board, is more optimistic and expects to increase the company’s sales by 7 %, based on the results of 2009.
