European Coatings Conference
"Anti corrosive coatings II"
27 - 28 October 2009 / Berlin, Germany
Protective Coatings Today
Corrosion constitutes the most harmful and destructive working chemical phenomenon. Within living memory mankind has designed and protected its surroundings in a corrosive environment. Already 500 years ago corrosion protection lacquers based on linseed oil and lead-pigments were being used.
Why are new approaches investigated and already well-known methods continuously improved? The attack with rust impairs both the appearance and the characteristics of the material, and thus causes new maintenance costs. The longer a corrosion protection coating adheres, the longer the repair interval lasts. Primarily nanotechnology has inspired a lot of current projects to enhance protective coatings. A further eco- and resource-friendly trend is the reduction of costs by less energy consumption through lower stoving temperatures or fewer layers.
The second European Coatings Conference "New concepts for Anti-Corrosive Coatings II" spotlights novel, not yet commercially established materials and technologies for high-performance anti-corrosive coatings. 12 handpicked top-level presentations will equip you with scientific knowledge for solving practical corrosion problems. The speakers, from both industry and academia, will focus topics such as:
- Smart nanoparticles, like self-healing and conductive polymers
- New eco- and resource-friendly polymer and hybrid system applications
- Anti-corrosive pigments and the latest corrosion inhibitor release and application techniques
The conference addresses R&D managers of coatings raw materials producers, coatings formulators, and end users across Europe and beyond.
At the additional Pre-Conference Tutorial, in the morning of the first conference day, corrosion principles, corrosion protective effects of coatings and the basics of new developments will be introduced and discussed to attach directly to the topic of the conference.
See you in Berlin!
