FUNDAMENTALS OF PARQUET COATINGS |
Not yet familiarmodern parquet coatings? Our concise four-hour
tutorial aims to build up (or refresh) your expertise on these systems,
enabling you to follow the high-level presentations of the conference
easily. Specifically, the tutorial will address
- Basic materials and chemistries
- Binder components and other important raw materials typically used
- Special features of solvent borne, water borne and UV curing parquet
coating formulations
- Most important industrial testing methods

The Lecturers
Juan Miguel Garcia did technical studies on Chemical
Industrial Processing. Parts of these studies included
practise time with Bayer. He then joined the Production
department at Bayer in Barcelona in 2001. When
the Competence Center was moved to Barcelona in
2002, he joined the Wood Coatings group, working mainly with 1K WB,
2K WB and parquet coatings (both WB and SB). He is currently a Customer
Service Technician in the BD Dispersions Wood Coatings team
from Bayer MaterialScience in Barcelona.
Helmut Kuczewski is at Bayer MaterialScience, working
in the area of coating application technology, coatings
for the industry with OEM filler / top coats for vehicles,
coil coats, both SB and WB.
He also has great experience with application technology
for radiation curing binders, paper/foil, wood / furniture, flooring
(Parquet, cork, PVC), plastics and metal.
