Safety first! The most important application category for food contact materials are coatings and inks used in food packaging with respect to the potential for migration to occur. There is no doubt: Food safety is of high importance. Migration of coatings components into foodstuff is a subject of increasing interest and an important aspect of food packaging because of the possible hazardous effects on human health. Therefore we have set up the European Coatings Conference “Food contact coatings”.
