Fundamentals of Ink-Jet Printing
Looking for more familiarity with Ink-Jet-Technology? Need a refresh? Our concise four-hour pre-conference tutorial will give you a holistic overview on the basic science and technology of ink-jet printing. You will get insight into ink-jet printing from a formulator's perspective as well as from a printhead perspective. Specifically, the tutorial will address:
ink-jet ink and ink-jet system design
materials for ink-jet inks
UV-curable formulations
other jettable material
ink printhead interaction
ink substrate interaction
functional printing
The Lecturer
Prof. Long Lin is Professor of Reprographic Science & Technology at the University of Leeds, UK. Prof. Lin completed his PhD at the University of Leeds and became a Research Fellow in the Department of Colour & Polymer Chemistry. He is editor of leading technical journals in the sector. As head of Digital Print Centre of Industrial Collaboration he is responsible for a wide variety of research projects, from anti-counterfeit print solutions and food packing innovations, to the printing of biochemicals on blood glucose test strips for the health sector. His areas of research interests are digital and conventional printing technologies. Security printing/labelling. Anti-counterfeit solutions. Thermochromism and photochromism. Computer-aided experimental design and optimisation of parameters. Synthesis of dyes and pigments. Design, characterisation and optimisation of surface coating systems including printing inks and paints.
Please note that the pre-conference tutorial and the main conference are two seperate events and that pre-registration is absolutely necessary as places are limited!
