Much talked about are self-healing, antifingerprint and anti-ice coatings, to name only a few. Apparently the attention for these materials is still on the rise – not only in academic circles but also in the industry. Attendees will get an overview of current developments for smart coatings.

There is still no end in sight for the continuing success story of modern polyurethane coatings formulations. On a very high performance level, important improvements in PUR coatings for most demanding applications are constantly being researched and marketed. Yet higher performance, cost reduction and environmental and legislative compliance constitute the key drivers of these developments. Thus, VOC-free yet high performing waterborne systems as well as coatings containing no free isocyanates are being put forward.
