But it isn’t only because of sustainability and legislation that UV systems continue to be a growing segment within the coatings industry. "Cost-in-use, performance and sustainability are the main drivers in the industrial coatings and printing and packaging markets, "says Dr Nick Gruber, BASF in our interview on UV/EB market development on page 14. And he adds: "UV/EB coatings are the benchmark for lowest cost-in-use at a certain performance level. "

In the focus paper on page 20, Xavier Drujon of Sartomer Europe presents his findings on alternative ways to achieve low gloss and soft touch UV/EB coatings. He will add more information on this topic at our monthly webcast European Coatings Live on 29 May, 15.00 CET. Registration is free of charge.

The complete issue is now also available at our data bank European Coatings 360°.  European Coatings 360° also provides registered users with the opportunity to conduct your research activities online via our quick and effective full-text search and find exactly the information you need for your daily work in the field of coatings formulation.
