Protective coatings in the focus of the February issue

Thursday, 15 February 2018

Facing wind and weather, protective coatings – which are this month focus topic – have to withstand tough conditions. Looking at the market, the conditions are, however, rather favourable as you can read in our market report from page 12. The issue is now available in European Coatings 360°.

Asia-Pacific is among the biggest growth drivers, a development underlined by the VOC regulation which triggers research in water-borne formulations. How legislation is affecting the development of epoxy paints is also in the focus of our technical focus paper. Dr Martin Gerlitz of Huntsman Advanced Materials discusses how REACH requirements drive research from page 18.

Another regulation keeping the coatings industry at its toes is a possible classification of titanium dioxide. Read our interviews with Didier Leroy, Technical Director of CEPE (page 28) and Tom Bowtell of the CEPE TiO2 Media Task Force (page 30) on what is ahead and what are the association’s next steps.

The complete issue is now also available at our data bank European Coatings 360°. European Coatings 360° also provides registered users with the opportunity to conduct your research activities online via our quick and effective full-text search and find exactly the information you need for your daily work in the field of coatings formulation. Currently there are 360 hits on the search phrase "protective coatings."
