The additive has wax-like properties and is suitable for aqueous, radiation-curing, solvent-free and solventborne systems.
Byk Additives & Instruments has developed a new additive with wax-like properties. Based on renewable raw materials, it represents an alternative to natural and synthetic waxes. The latter, for instance, are based on finite, petrochemical resources. Thanks to biotechnology, the new additive, by contrast, is produced with the aid of bacteria. Another advantage is the versatility of the additive. It is suitable for all systems: aqueous, radiation-curing, solvent-free, and solventborne. It provides efficient matting and also involves a soft-touch effect. Systems using the product have a high degree of transparency and improved scratch resistance.
