Researchers at the Institute International Trendscouting (IIT) have developed a methodology to help predict future trends for architectural coatings.
At the IIT different methods which relate and depend on one another are combined. The first level is a consideration of the past with regard to cultural influences and an observation of the cycles in design. The current climate is evaluated by expert consultation (delphi method) in combination with scouting and monitoring. The combination of all of these methods will provide a basic guideline of possible architectural and design future trends and scenarios. These visions will create a starting point for design in education and economy.
Prof. Sabine Foraita will present a paper on this matter at the European Coatings Conference "Architectural coatings” on 24 and 25 April, 2012 in Berlin.
